    "Samajwadi Party" a recognized party in the State of Uttar Pradesh, having reserved symbol 'Bicycle', in that state, has requested the Commission for concession under Paragraph 10 of the Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 1968 for allotment of the said symbol' Bicycle' to the candidates being set up by the said party at the current general election to the House of the People, 2019 for all the 14 (fourteen) Parliamentary Constituencies going to Poll for third phase in the State of Maharashtra. The Commission has decided to extend the concession sought by the party under paragraph 10 of the Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 1968. Accordingly, the candidate set up by " Samajwadi Party" at the current general election to the House of the People, 2019 for all the 14 (fourteen) Parliamentary Constituencies going to Poll for third phase in the State of Maharashtra shall be allotted the syrn boI 'Bicycle' The Returning Officers may be informed that the candidates set up by "Samajwadi Party" in the aforesaid Constituencies are eligible for the allotment of the symbol' Bicycle' under paragraph 10 of the Symbols Order, 1968 subject to strict fulfillment of each of the provisions of paragraph 13thereof.

    PRESS NOTE Subject: Three bye elections to Karnataka Legislative Council and one bye election to Maharashtra Legislative Council by the Members of respective Legislative Assembly- Corrigendum-reg The Commission had announced a schedule for holding three bye elections to Karnataka Legislative Council and one bye election to Maharashtra Legislative Council by the Members of Legislative Assembly, vide its Press Note No. ECI/PN/60/2018 dated 7thSeptember, 2018. As the last date for making nominations, i.e. 22ndSeptember, 2018 (Saturday) falls on 4th Saturday of the month is a ‘Public Holiday’ as per Section 25 of Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, as per the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, Notification dated 20.08.2015, therefore, the Commission has suitably amended the schedule changing the last date for making nominations to the next working day i.e. 24thSeptember, 2018 (Monday).
