About This File

"Manipur People's Party" a registered unrecognized State party at present but which was a state party in the state of Manipur prior to its de-recognition on 20.12.2013, having reserved symbol 'Bicycle' in the said state, has requested the Commission for concession under Para 10A of the Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 1968 for allotment of the said symbol 'Bicycle' to its candidates being set up by the party at the current general election to the House of the People, 2019 for all the two Parliamentary Constituencies in the State of Manipur.

The Commission has decided to extend the concession sought by the party under paragraph 10A of the Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 1968. Accordingly, the candidate set up by " Manipur People's Party " at the current general election to the House of the People, 2019 for all the two Parliamentary Constituencies in the State of Manipur, shall be allotted the symbol 'Bicycle'.

The Returning Officers may be informed that the candidates set up by "Manipur People's Party" in the aforesaid Constituencies are eligible for the allotment of the symbol 'Bicycle' under paragraph 10A of the Symbols Order, 1968 subject to strict fulfillment of each of the provisions of paragraph 13thereof.
