I am directed to state that as per existing policy, revision of electoral rolls with reference to 1st January of the coming year as the qualifying date is done in later part of each year in all States/UTs (normally in the last quarter of a year). Since general election to Legislative Assembly of Jharkhand has recently been concluded, the Commission has decided that a Special Summary Revision be undertaken in your State to give opportunity to the left out electors and new electors who are going to be eligible for enrollment with reference to 01.01.2020 as the qualifying date. The Commission, taking all aspects into consideration, has directed to undertake Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls of intensive nature w.r.t. 01.01.2020 as qualifying date in the State of Jharkhand as per the schedule below:- 





Pre- Revision activities:-


Preparation of publicity Materials/Training Materials etc.

By 16th March 2020 (Monday)

a) Cascaded Training of Officers State Level training of DLMTs

16th to 19th March 2020

b) District level Training of ALMTs

21st March to 24th March 2020

c) Block level Training of Supervisors and BLOs

26th March to 27th March 2020



Elector’s Verification Programme (EVP) in a campaign mode with the help of SVEEP and other pre-revision activities including rationalization of polling stations.

 From 30th March 2020 (Monday) to 30th April 2020 (Thursday)

Publication of Integrated draft electoral roll

On 8th May 2020 (Friday)


Period for filing claims & objections

8th May 2020 (Friday) to
