ECI brought out clear regulations for Cyber Security and educated entire electoral staff through several workshops. One of the major initiatives which ECI took was to revamp all important but old applications, reduced the number of applications and consolidated them into a few manageable ones.

    Towards Safe Applications & Websites
    In a short period of 6 Months, the Elections Commission of India has brought in Six Mobile Apps and four Websites keeping Cyber Safety as the most important parameter in mind.
    The Main Website of the ECI has been completely revamped by following cybersecurity framework.
    Similarly, Voter Education Portal SVEEP & Online RTI Portal have been revamped. A Number of mobile applications for Citizens, Observers, ECI officials, Field Units, CEOs have been brought out.

    Digital technologies and the internet have affected how elections are conducted, including online voter registration. At the same time issues concerning cyber security have also emerged. Allegations of, and fears about, cyber meddling in election systems undermine confidence in the democratic process and threaten citizens' trust in voting. Protection and deterrence are necessary and reassuring voters of the importance and effectiveness of election cyber security policies is also critical. Achieving these objectives requires local, national, and international actions to strengthen cyber security in election systems and to elevate election integrity in cyber security policies and monitoring.
